Review Of 'Viduthalai Part-II' (2024)

 Viduthalai Part-II (2024)

It was a film that I missed watching last year. But I'm watching it this year. A story that was originally made as a single film was later divided into two parts. Since the first part marked a decisive end, watching the second one naturally makes me impatient. I saw a clear difference in the flow of the film pair itself. That's where it would be better to watch it back to back, thinking that this is the longest single film.

Here we see the origin story of the great revolutionary Perumal, which is revealed in the first part. The journey of taking Perumal, who is in police custody, through the middle of the great forest also unfolds in parallel. Due to the character description of the great actor Vijay Sethupathi, the entire film is filled with him. In the first part, Soori played that role. The curiosity of a different character from a comedian made me watch the first part. In the second part, Soori is highlighted in the relevant places.

Since this is a film by Vetrimaaran, it contains the usual violence. If there was more of it, it was in the first part. There was a lot of it in this second part. In the script that I got to see, some scenes were blurred. Vetrimaaran is a Russian who makes films about innocent people who are crushed by the iron shoes of the police. In this, apart from Vijay Sethupathi's performance, I see great quality in the portrayal of the police chiefs. The opposing side is so strong that it feels like they are not actors, but real police officers. I definitely recommend it as a must-watch.
